Transnistria – A One-Day Visit
When arriving from Moldova, entry into Transnistria takes place at a checkpoint, where passports are checked and a temporary stay permit is issued. The procedure is usually quick and routine, with little or no questioning. After the checkpoint, Bender is the first major stop, where a visit to the Bender Fortress provides the historical foundation of the day.
From Bender onward, there are no further border checks or administrative procedures, and Tiraspol can be reached freely. In the capital, the program continues with a walking tour through the central squares and boulevards, followed by lunch at a local restaurant offering regional dishes. One of the highlights of the visit is the KVINT Cognac Distillery, one of Transnistria’s most well-known points of pride, before returning to Moldova in the early or later afternoon.
